If you're looking to make a delicious gluten-free apple crisp, you're in luck! This recipe is not only easy to make but also packed with flavor. Here are the ingredients you'll need:

- 3-5 medium/large apples (gala are my favorite but anything works)

- 1/2 cup of butter

- Ground cinnamon

That's it! Just gather these simple ingredients and you'll be on your way to making my super easy gluten-free apple crisp in no time.

How do I know if my apple crisp is gluten-free?

If you're someone who follows a gluten-free diet, you know how important it is to be mindful of the ingredients you use in your cooking. Making a gluten-free apple crisp may sound tricky, but it's actually quite simple! In fact, it's one of my favorite desserts to make because it's quick, easy, and always a crowd-pleaser.

To start, you'll need to gather your ingredients. Make sure to use gluten-free flour (I recommend Bob's Red Mill Gluten Free Flour) and double-check that your butter is gluten-free as well (you would be shocked at how many random things have gluten). Once you have your ingredients, it's time to get baking!

Does a gluten-free apple crisp taste the same as a regular apple crisp?

As someone who has made both gluten-free and regular apple crisp, I can confidently say that they taste very similar!

The texture may be slightly different due to the use of gluten-free flour, but the flavor is just as delicious. In fact, many people who aren't even on a gluten-free diet often opt for gluten-free baked goods because they enjoy the taste just as much. Plus, with this recipe, you won't even miss the gluten!

Is it possible to make a gluten-free apple crisp with oats?

Yes, it is definitely possible to make a gluten-free apple crisp with oats! Oats themselves do not contain gluten, but they can be contaminated with gluten during processing. So, if you are making a gluten-free apple crisp with oats, make sure to use certified gluten-free oats.

I personally think this recipe is so good that it doesn't need oats, but you can sprinkle them in with the crumble if you really want to!

What type of apples are best for making gluten-free apple crisp?

My personal favorite is gala apples. They have a perfect balance of sweetness and tartness that really shines in a warm, cinnamon-spiced apple crisp. But if you have a different favorite variety, go ahead and use that!

The key is to choose apples that are firm and not too ripe so that they hold their shape and texture during baking.

How long does gluten-free apple crisp take to bake in the oven?

For this gluten-free apple crisp recipe, I recommend baking it for about 35-40 minutes at 350 degrees. You'll know it's done when the crumble topping is golden brown and the apples are bubbling on the sides.

One tip I have is to let the apple crisp cool for at least 30-45 minutes before serving. This allows the juices from the apples to thicken and the crumble topping to set. Trust me, it's worth the wait!
