The Best Peach Margarita Recipe

The sun is shining, the birds are chirping, and peach season is finally here. As a huge fan of both margaritas and peaches, I couldn't be more excited about combining the two into one perfect summery drink. After much experimentation and taste-testing, I have finally found the best peach margarita recipe that will have you coming back for seconds (or thirds).

What makes this recipe so special, you ask? Well, let me break it down for you.

The Ingredients:

  • 2 oz Good Blanco Tequila

  • 1 oz Triple Sec

  • ¾ ounce fresh lime juice

  • 1 oz peach puree

  • Lime wedge for garnish

As with any cocktail, the quality of your ingredients can make a huge difference in the final product. For this peach margarita, I recommend using a good blanco tequila. This will give you a smooth and clean taste without overpowering the peach flavor. For the triple sec, any orange liqueur will do, but I personally prefer using Cointreau or Grand Marnier for a more refined taste.

Now, for the star ingredient - the peaches. For the best flavor, make sure to use ripe peaches. There's nothing worse than biting into a peachy margarita and getting a mouthful of unripe peach chunks. If you can't find ripe peaches, you can also use frozen peaches or canned peaches in a pinch.

The Peach Puree:

To make the peach puree, simply blend fresh or frozen peaches until smooth. If you like a sweeter peach margarita, you can add a little bit of simple syrup or peach schnapps to the puree. But personally, I find that the natural sweetness of the fresh peaches is enough.

Shaken, Not Stirred:

The key to a perfect margarita is shaking the ingredients together in a cocktail shaker. This not only mixes all the flavors together but also chills the drink and creates a nice frothy texture. Don't have a cocktail shaker? No problem. You can also use a mason jar or any other container with a tight lid.

The Recipe:

1. Rim a margarita glass with salt by running a lime wedge around the rim and dipping it into a plate of salt.

2. In a cocktail shaker, combine the blanco tequila, triple sec, fresh lime juice, and peach puree.

3. Add a handful of ice cubes and shake vigorously for about 30 seconds.

4. Strain the margarita into the salt-rimmed glass filled with ice.

5. Garnish with a lime wedge and enjoy your fresh peach margarita!

Variations:

If you're feeling adventurous, there are many ways to switch up this recipe and create different versions of peach margaritas. Here are a few ideas to get you started:

1. Spicy Peach Margaritas - Add a splash of jalapeno-infused tequila or a few slices of fresh jalapenos to the cocktail shaker for a spicy kick.

2. Strawberry Peach Margaritas - Replace the peach puree with strawberry puree for a fruity twist on the classic margarita.

3. Peach Cobbler Margaritas - Add a little bit of cinnamon and nutmeg to the peach puree for a drink that tastes like a liquid peach cobbler.

4. Frozen Peach Margaritas - Blend all the ingredients together with ice for a frozen treat on a hot day. Add some extra simple syrup to the drink for this since the ice will dilute it!

When it comes to margaritas, there's no one "right" way to make them. Everyone has their own preferences and taste buds. But in my opinion, this peach margarita recipe is the perfect refreshing cocktail for a warm day. So next time you're hosting a happy hour or just in need of a summery margarita recipe, give this one a try. You won't be disappointed.

Cheers to peach season and the perfect peach margarita!
