Decorating A Dining Room for Christmas

One of the great parts about having an open space between the living and dining room is that my North Pole living room vibe seeps over into the dining room.... i.e. I don't have to do too much decorating in the dining room to make it uber festive!

I saw a sign like this on Instagram and had to have it, and luckily found it at Target a week later. The candy cane jar is there because Kyle has to have "pocket candy canes" all winter, so this is where he does his re-ups!

I finally hung the gallery wall a few weeks ago after some DIY encouragement from Alaina Kacmarski a few weeks ago at her CB2 event- I thought I would have to hire someone to do this but, viola! I think it turned out pretty well, no?

The stockings are hung here because, well, I had nowhere else to hang them honestly!

The little candy cane lights were a gift from Kyle's mom last year- they are a lot of fun and also have a blinking feature!

The garland with white lights feels so sophisticated and has SHOCKINGLY stayed fresh for about a month- we spray it with water twice a day, but i think it also just has something to do with it being white pine!

I'm super excited to have this as the backdrop next week for our Christmas cocktail party. I'm currently looking for cute ideas for easy appetizers (I always end up stuck in the kitchen, which I love, but then I end up missing out on the party so I'm trying to avoid that). Are you guys entertaining over the holidays? Any great apps I should try?

Cheers,

JBB
